Allegany Retired School Personnel association actively defends legislation that is beneficial to school retirees and is the only organization solely focused on state retiree legislation. We contact state legislators and influence them to vote positively for our retirement/pension benefits in the Maryland General Assembly. Members also join to support the scholarship fund, which encourages local young people to enter our education profession. The membership also works to support local schools and charitable organizations.
ACRSP offers a monthly luncheon forum, during which our members enjoy educational and entertaining programs as well as benefit from the give and take of attending members regarding their retirement experiences. ACRSP also organizes group trips to local and regional locations. Luncheons take place on the first Thursday of each month at the Cumberland Country Club. Reservations are required.
Maryland State Dues are presently $50.00 and local dues are $20.00. These rates are high value compared to other retirement groups. Most local dues go to support local student scholarships.
